hey
im after some bandpass subbox designs
not really after specifications for a sub coz a variety of subs will bu used in it.
so does anyone have any sketches or designs of how to make a bandpass box so i can make one
cheers
They HAVE to be designed for one specific sub, you can't make a generic box that will suit several subs. As you probably know, a bandpass box creates a low cut off frequency and a high cut off frequency so it only plays a certain band of frequencies. As soon as you put a different sub in, that band of frequencies will change and it might not be tuned to even play bass frequencies anymore. It just doesn't work...
oh fair enough.
i was talking to this dj guy last night n he rekons that any band pass made will sound good to an extent.
if its not made to specifications, then i no you would loose bass but would it sound good? the slightest?
eg..wud it pack a harder umfff than a sealed/ported box
I've never been a real fan of bandpass designs in a car enviroment of late. I'm tending to find that they are well suited to clubs where a long throw is desirable. But when it's only 30cm to the nearest wall....
But that is purely my personal opinion.
If you insist though, there are multiple types of bandpasses. You first need to work out what Order you would like.
This is probably the most common design which is the most suited to car enviroments.
This is refered to as a T-Line
