Hi I am building a HT Primer which I am going to put a rb30 motor into. Yeah I know that its not a commodore but I find the forums on this website very helpful. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few thing.

The first is I want to keep the original radio and want to put a new head unit in the glove box. What would be the best way to do this. I was thinking if I use a pioneer head unit with the steering wheel control. Then would I be able to put something under the dash to boost the infra red signal so i
can keep the glove box closed. If you know any other way it would be much appreciated.

Also what do you guy think of the pioneer yellow speakers. I am thinking of putting the splits in the front and the 6' ones in the parcel tray. I don't know the model numbers.

Another question I have is what are the best intake manifold to put on the rb30 motor and exhaust on the stock engine. Also would a twin throttle body make any difference on a stock engine. If you could help me with these question it would be much appreciated.

You won't be able to keep the glovebox closed. No matter how strong the IR signal..it ain't going through solid materials...it's a form of light.

Some headunits use a steering COLUMN controller that is wire fed to the headunit (Sony still do IIRC) that would be your best bet.

As for mounting it in the glove compart...pull the glove compartment insert out then pop rivet the HU cage inside so the unit will still slide in and out.

Hi I was looking on the pioneer website in America and found this http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...617549,00.html. Its a marine remote that can connect to any pioneer head unit. I was wondering if any one has seen these before. I rang up Autobahn and they pioneer and they reckon they don't sell these in Australia. Its a shame because this is just what I need. If anyone now how to get these in Australia it would be great.
