MTX vs Pioneer
Hi I have narrowed my sub woofer selection to three different options.
1) Two MTX 12" t7500
2) Two Pioneer 12" TS-W307D2
3) One MTX 12" t9500
Has anyone used MTX subs before. I've heard some good and and some bad things about MTX. Also do you know of any good amps that could power these subs.
If you could help me out it would be cool.

personally i reckon the pioneer subs arnt to flash, i had the 12" 1000W pioneer sub 2006 model i think, and the 2 cadence subs i have noe sounded better, althought the pioneer was more powerful it didnt sound as good as the others.

my mates the same...he tried and tested all brands in his car...the best by far have been MTX...he now has them throughout...they seem to shine above others in their bass, even on the 6 inchs...

It all depends on the box they're in... Too small and you'll have reduced low frequency output. Depending which model you're talking about, the 306C, 3004SPL, 5102SPL all have good low end. The 301R isn't that flash though.

You cant compare the ranges your looking at......
The T7500 series is more in line with the quality of the TSSW1241D
And the 9500 in the MTX is more inline with the TSW3004SPL
Have a shop around to premium pioneer dealers as not everyone stocks the higerend and more quality Pioneer Gear.
My cousin has a T7500 in his VX and i have a TSSW1241D in my VZ and to tell you the truth they sound very close to each other...
Personal preference... Let your ears do the testing and chose that way

Yeah it can be hard to just say what will sound good without listening to the different options.
I have heard MTX subs and was pretty impressed by them.
On the other hand, the pionner sub in my old car (and my brother owned the car before me) got the s*it flogged through it the whole time each of us owned it and it still sounded good the day i sold the car.

mtx is poweerfull and loud but muddy sound
pioneer isnt as powerfull but cleaner bass
personally i choose 2 pionners over mtx
persoannly i wouldnt put mtx in my car i like a cleaner sound not mud sound
either or youll be happy with both

I agree with this, also if you can, when testing them in store ask them to chuck on something that you would normally play in your car. I went with my mate to get a sub and amp and they were playing that doof doof crap, so we asked them to play one of our cds, made a big difference to his choice.

jl w3
Hi has anyone got or heard anything about the jl w3 subs. I know how good the w7 are but what do the w3 sound like in a car. I have only heard them in the sound boards at jb hi-fi. Do you think they are more a doof doof kind of sub or a clear sounding sub. If you could help me it would be cool.
