Default VX factory stereo upgrade problem

    Hi,

I've spent a lot of time scouring these forums in the hope that my question has already been answered, but to no avail.

I have a VXII Berlina and have acquired a Eurovox headunit and cd stacker from a 2001 Statesman, along with the factory amplifier and rear speakers. Got the headunit working and stacker set up in the boot no worries,--that all works, however I don't know how to hook the headunit to the amplifier for the rear speakers. I have also noticed that there is a second plug on the back of the headunit, similar to the one the normal wiring loom is connected to, but not as wide--I am not sure what this is for but an guessing this might have something to do with it.

Also, the steering controls don't work when this unit is in the car and I'm not too sure why either.

Anyone out there who can be of assistance?

    Thanks!

Daniel, as your team leader I think you should spend less time of forums and more time concentrating on the more important things in life. Harrassing people.

    Catch ya monday.

Why bother with stock audio gear? Get all aftermarket audio gear and it will sound at least twice as better.
    My car audio:

CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
    Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

The third plug is for the sub woofer amp. Did you get the wiring loom from the Statesman as well?
I can't help with the steering wheel controls but I'm sure someone will be able to help.
Regardless of what other people may think, the Eurovox Maestro Series system sounds quite good.
Edit: I just noticed this thread is about 9 months old and the guy has probably got it sorted out by now.

also, the amplifier in the boot is patched into the rear door speakers. do that and run power to the amp... problem solved.
