I'm thinking about getting new speakers for the VS to go with the new head deck and sub,
Firstly,
Are the fronts 4 inch or 6 inch speakers ? I've never bothered to look![]()
The rears are 6's ... from memory,
I'm thinking about buying 6.5 inch speakers all around, will they fit in the rear parcel tray without any drama /// and if the fronts are 4 inchs, what do you guys recommend// if the fronts are 6inch speakers, will 6.5's go in ??
Don't worry, i plan on running an Amp ... and with the base from the sub, i wont be needing any bloody 6x9's.

6" in the front doors and 6.5 will fit.
Not sure about the parcel shelf on these, i never put any in mine but i'd imagine that they had 6" in from stock.
yup, 6" all round and a number of 6.5s will fit without modification of the door pod, some will fit WITH modification and the rest will fit if you build a new door pod. Check with the car audio store when you buy them. They should be able to help you out if you go to a real car audio store...not JB or strathfield or places like those. When you go there, it's a real hit and miss as to if the salesperson knows or is making it up.
hmmm yes a bloke at jb "convinced" me to use 8ga to run 200A through it...... dont like jb.......
There are a few threads about making custom door pods for a VS to fit 6.5" speakers if you want to put them in.
I went with a set of 6" splits in the front of mine and dont really think they are that much worse than their 6.5" equivelant. I was just too lazy at the time to make up pods.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people
regardless 8ga is not at all suitable for 200A. jb hifi hire of salemanship not knowlage of anything they sell.
i had a vr with jl audio 'vr' 6" splits up front and 'tr' 6 inch 2-ways in the back running off a 600w kenwood amp and they were awesome!! they would hurt your ears b4 they distorted!!
Thats a really general statement. There are some guys at jb hifi that really know their stuff. There are some people that dont. It doesnt matter where you go, its going to depend on the person that you are dealing with more than anything else.
8ga can be suitable for currents up to and exceeding 200A, it just depends on the application. I wouldnt recommend it for car audio or continuous power though.
