Default Installed subs, engine light on..

Hey, im not sure if the question has been asked before, had a search and sorting through stuff i didnt see anything. (forgive me if its been answered)

Ok yesterday i installed subs and an amp. all went well. i get up to drive it and the engine light goes on half way down the road. im definately assuming its electrical. i checked the codes and it was a circuit fault. i reconnected everything though...

just wondering if anyone knows from experience or this is just a 1 off. btw the car runs fine. just an annoying light which worries me.

    thanks in advance

So what code did it throw up?

I doubt it has anythink to do with the sub,/amp, just that it happened to throw a code up once it was done.

Code 42 - Electronic Spark Timing Bypass Circuit fault (EST

Found that for ya for the fault, looks like it proberly from the DFI.

I would check all those wires, then reset ur ECU by removing the big 60amp(i think) engine fuse under the bonnet.

Reset the IAC then take it for a spin see if it will logg another code again.

sorry 1 more question wheres the DFI module.. i really dont know much about it. i generally let mechanics handle it, im prone to ruining stuff.. (like my amp and sub install... maybe lol)

OK when u stand infront of ur car lookin at the engine, on the right hand side is where ur leads run from the coils to the sparkplugs, the coils bolt to the DFI module, there will be a group of wires running out the right hand side of dfi wrapped up in the black corrigated plastic. just push in all those wires, reset the ecu n see if it plays up again.
