Slwo sub reaction

Hey i have 2 kicker vr's connected to an audiobahn 2 chanel amp with 1200watts max. running from 4 guage wires. When i play rnb and rap the bass is good but when i play techno it seems a little bit slow. The subs are 12" in the kicker ported box. Any ideas how to speed up bass reaction?

i had the same prob with my fusion power plants 12s i found that it was the head deck. some head decks only put out a certan amount of volts through their rca outputs and when i installed a fusion equalizer it put out 8volts through its rca as opposed to my pioneer head deck with was like 6 i think and this has solved the prob that you have it was damn annoying when i used to crank up a bit of techno with good subs and the subs ran out of time lol. also play around with your level input on your amp that can make a diff if your amp and head deck arent tuned in properly together. and if your amp hasnt got enough power from the battery through a decent cable it can starve for power and cause this and finaly if the amp lacks the capacity to drive the subs this can be a cause aswell.

cxcx: the preout voltage will do NOTHING to improve the "lag" as you call it.
the lag is caused by the box the subs are in (too big)

defon: if you want to improve the lag of the subs then you will need to desigh a new box. because the current box is ported this will probably be the problem.
sealed boxes are usually far less susceptible to the "lag" (usually called group delay).
soto fix the problem, either design a new ported box or go sealed.
