illumination

hey guys, used the wiring colours from the thread for my vx and i must say it was very helpful, one problem i have is the illumination wire. it triggers as normal from the head lights but the brake lights also trigger it. just wondering if anyone else came across this?

Exactly, damn annoying to.... the brake lights must be wired into that illumination circuit as well as the headlights, may be a calais thing????? the schematics show an "illumination" and an "illumination out" wire, i used the illumination wire... anyone know what the illumination out wire was used for originally?

I have something simlar in my VR every time I hit the skids headlights come on tracked to a bad earth in boot

i agree sounds like a bad earth causing the power from the brake lights to run down the tail light harness and cause power to appear at illumination wire at head unit. do your parklights come on with your foot on the brake too??
