cd not ejecting in vx berlina

The cd wont come out in our fact eurovox system, in fact it wont play unless something is pushed into the slot to make the cd engage.
How do I get it out, what is wrong with it......is it stuffed, can it be repaired easily and cheaply?

a newer and better mp3 player costs $99, so you can hardly expect to get it repaired for under that, through it away. mine broke going over a pot hole

Thanks for the reply, am looking for a simple/cheap fix. Replacing the unit with another is an option, however, I would appear to keep the stock unit with the am/fm cassette/cd and still have the steering wheel mounted controls operative(purely because they are there and I dont like things that dont work!), is it possible to have the steering wheel controls to operate with aftermarket units.
