    Default Head Unit Screws

A friend wanted me to install a head unit for him but after pulling it out of the box I realized that there were no screws. Can I just get them from JB or sumthing or do I have to contact the manufacturer?

Btw, its a Clarion DB266MP and he bought it at the start of the year.

i would just use the orig screws n mounts for the stocko h/u

U mite have to re-drill hole to match up on the new h/u but thats all.

yeah they are smaller, but get a tape measure or something (ruler) etc and measure where the screws go on the new head unit then put a mark on the original brackets where u need to drill the new holes.. its as simple as 1 2 3.. trust me i done it on mine but i drilled the holes not in the right place so it sticks out about 1.5cm but it still holds in there and works so im not fussed.. good luck

I dont think yous understand me. The diameter of the stock screws would be too small to use on an aftermarket head unit. Have you compared stock screws to the aftermarket screws? Theres a fairly big difference. As for the bracket I have no problems. I have done it many times.

the 8mm screws that hold brackets to head unit. what other screws would come with a head unit? besides the one for mounting a support bracket on the rear of the unit (mainly when using sleeve)

I went to ringwood today and checked out Dick smith and Tandy and I couldnt find anything.. Even asked the sales people in both shops and they said they couldnt help me.

I was gonna check out the Dick smith in chirnside park but it would have been too much of a hassle seeing I was going by public transport :P

Looks like il have to go to the local hardware one day. Still waiting for email response from clarion tho too.
