I purchased a cassette so I could plug my mp3 player into the radio, but I cant get the cassette to eject. Nothing else on the radio works now cant play cds or radio. VT Calais with std. Maestro series unit. Anyone got any Ideas? Thanks in advance
whats a cassette?
might need to pull the h/u out and remove the metal casing to manually release the casette mech.
Thought that may be the case. Thanks for the advice
To Cobez
A tape cassette with a lead attached so you can plug it into a mp3 player to play thru your tape deck
pretty easy to remove. get a coathanger then cut and bend it to fit into the 2 holes either side, this releases it then the whole things pulls out. simply remove the wiring connector and your done. never dissasembled the unit itself before but you can remove the face fairly easily. you will need a mini-screwdriver.
Power is measured in DECIBEL
Pretty easy. Take it out and replace it with a head unit with USB support.
Thanks for the input guys
Does anyone know what to do when I get the H/U out
once you get it out, dont get another one, my stepmother got one that plays CD's and it kept on jamming as well.
We got rep back, yaaay!
Problem solved
I removed the H/U as suggested, just far enough to get at the 4 screws on the sides that hold the faceplate on. Remove these screws and faceplate. On the passenger side of the tape mechanism is a bent tab, just push this towards the front of the car & the tape will come out.
