haha sorry dude it isnt that quick to explain but...there are 2 ways to wire a dvc sub, parallel or in a series. If you want to wire in parallel you would run the positive and negative terminals from your amp to the positive and negative terminals on ur sub just like normal except you would run +wire to + on coil 1 and -wire to - on coil 2 and then just run a short peice of wire connecting + to + and - to - etc. this is how you would usually connect ur sub and wiring it this way will half the impendance, if each coil is rated at 4ohms the sub will be set at 2 ohms.

In a series install you would be running +wire to + on coil 1 and -wire to - on coil 2 then run just 1 wire connecting + to - on the other terminals, wiring this way will double your impendance, if each coil is rated at 4ohms ur sub will be set at 8 ohms,
    hope this answers ur question

thats with regard to the amp and sub connection mate. and it does depend on the amp
anders hit the nail on the head, + to - to + to - doubles the coil; resistance and +to + and - to - halves coild R.
