i just bought a vr ute and made a sub box to mount next to feul tank in tray but i was after some other ideas for inside does aanyone have some pics of there installs in there ute cheers....
have a look at insfusions page he made, he has a sub behind the passenger seat
My '00 VS III Ute 5.0L
here's mine. and im very happy with the bass it pumps for what it is...
Very nice...the only things i'd be concerned about are:
a) Its very easy for theives to access/steal
b) If you're carrying stuff in the back, you'll have to cover up the sub so that it doesn't get damaged.

exa the general opinion with subs in a ute is either the tray orute or a pioneer slim line model. there is just not enough room for a full sized driver.
hey i just bought i vs ute also i have been thinking bout doing something behind the headrests dont think 6x9's will fit but thought maybe could use 5x7's?? would u be able to send me some dimensions for the sub box as i have a mate that wants to do this to his ute and i might even do this two eventually
hey gustov, speaking from experience, speakers behind your head wrecks the sound field if you already have speakers in the doors..... all you can hear is the speakers closest to your ears.
if its nice sounding bass your after(nothing earth shaking), i recommend the JVC slimline subs, 7 inch sub in a box that fits under your seat with an inbuilt amp.... just run the power and earth wires, one up to the accessory feed from the headunit and it has high level and low level inputs so you can splice it off the speaker wires or use the RCA jacks from your headunit
and for $300 retail is good value for money if you dont want it to shake your car to bits
any other ppl got some pics just done up a sub box for the tray and redone my back wall ...
would also be interested to see what people are running im looking to upgrade my stereo system within the next few weeks
this is a pic of the box i made for back just leaves me space for long trips behind the seats and not that noticeable .....
