Front speakers

Vn wagon. Speakers in the front sound terrible. Only has the factory fitted stereo and the dash mounted speakers. What's my best options? Replace the speakers, or mount something else? I am not really into paying heaps, just want something that doesn't sound like two tin cans being rubbed together.

Wouldnt bother with OEM stuff. I got a cheap pair of $30 Pioneer 4" speakers until i got my 6" splits for the doors. Sounded much better than stock but small modification is needed to replace them.

You need to remove the aircon vents either sides of the dash to access the screw holding the speaker grille/cover in place.

Is 6" the right size for the doors? Do they need spacers? Anything else needed?

^^^ i think on the VN's you need spacers, even for 6".

I had to put spacers in my VN anyway

iv seen people mount 6's straight into the doors but I think that looks tacky and better off with pods or spacers.
