    None of the above.

my tweeters are on -4db attenuation not that it means anything. Every setup will be different based on the speakers involved and listener preference. If 0db sounds the best to you then that is the best option. Who cares what everyone else is running its your car and your ears. We are forever pointing out that "best" is subjective ie it doesnt matter what everyone else thinks, its your gear so setup how you like it!

very good point, it all depends on the setup, ie tweeter positioning, amp settings etc. etc. just set them to what ever sounds good in your setup.

    +1 for Joey.

Whatever floats yer boat Semtex - some people like nice bright highs, in which case they might run the 0dB or +3dB connections. For those who like the highs a little more subdued, they might run the -3dB connection, or even run an additional resistor (1 ohm maybe) in series with the tweet. (although that will affect the X-over performance somewhat...)

Think about how you normally prefer to listen to your stuff, and even try a couple of the different settings to see what you prefer. Others opinions are fine, but it's your system after all!

    passive sucks... lol

go active and forever forget about limited attenuation options!!

It all depends on so many things its not funny.

Its the last thing to tune, if your tweets are ripping your head off, and you dont have a powerful enough EQ, attenuation is the go.

If your tweets are up high, on the dash or a-pillars, attenuation is usually needed as reflections from the windscreen can be quite harsh and the tweets themselves are alot closer to your ears.
