I bought a DEH-P8850MP about 3 months ago and I'm very happy with it although there's a "donk" sound so to speak that you get when you change tracks or adjust the volume and I'm sure this is consistent with all the pioneer models.
Is there anyway to disable this feature as it can get annoying and I've had a few mates point it out which made me think of disabling it. With all the customization's you can do with this unit I'm sure there is some way to at least change the sound of it, little alone remove it. It's no biggie if I can't, but I just thought it could be possible?
(If no one knows, the 8850 model it's virtually the same as the current top end DEH-P9850BT on there web site, just the fact that mine doesn't have blue tooth and usb adapter ect)
Cheers.
your not running any after market amplifiers are you?
Nope.
In this case it's got nothing to do with anything else other than the headunit (afaik). To me it seems like a standard feature so you can tell when you have changed the volume, track ect without looking at the display but as I said it gets annoying.
You asking me that though makes me think it could be only to do with my model? Are there any other pioneer users out there that can confirm this?
mine doesnt mayb its only with the DEH-P8850MP or later models than mine? mines the 7650MP

I've used 3 different Pioneer head units over the past 4 or 5 years and have never had this issue. Although my current unit is probably getting close to 3 years old now so maybe it is just a feature of the newer models? I have never heard of such a feature though.
I don't have a pioneer but have the same thing, only does it if I am using the remote, or changing radio stations....only gets annoying when I am trying to tune the radio...
