hey guys im looking at getting a good sound setup for my vr and i was just looking here and thought maybe u guys had some suggestions and also i have about 1 grand or so thanks guys
Hi mate, for a fitted price of 2500 you can get a three pre out unit from either alpine or pioneer, with soundstream splits and 6 by 9's with 2 amps one a mono bloc and a 4 channel from soundstream, as well as 2 12 inch soundstream subs in a dual box. With this price you will also get custom sound deadning in your 2 doors as well as your boot.
It will sound awesome and good value for money.
hahahahahaha!
the customer says about $1000, luke up sells that to $2500!
mate first off do you want a sub or not?
Hey Luke can i ask where do you work, and why you would mix 6x9's with 2 x 12" woofers?
What is the purpose of the 6x9's in the system, which frequency range will they take care off?
Also giving a generalised opinion on product with no model numbers and also implying thats installed with sound deadening is a little bit funny to me, because not every car is the same. I am curious as to what product models you are recommending, because i know just to sound deaden doors in a VR is a half a day job to do it properly.
George

From here.
Admittedly, that is in American dollars, and assumes that you are installing it yourself.
Also spending more on your front speakers is a wise investment.
ok cool i was acctually going to get better rears then fronts but why is this?
Thinking logically, in most audio setups (movies, home theatres, listening rooms etc) the main speakers are in front of you. Even in most conversations person to person, rarely are the people to your sides/back.
Plus, how often do you as the driver sit in the back? Sometimes, you have to be selfish.
Exactly arrow224, you are trying to create the illusion of a stage in front of you, in a car environment. Just like a live concert.
You dont sit at the front of a concert and face the back do you? Why would you do this in a car?
Some of the best sounding systems I have ever heard contained 5 speaker drivers.
2 x tweeters, to handle high frequencies, from around 2kHz- 3-5kHz and up
2 x midwoofers, to handle from 63Hz- 80Hz to about 2kHz- 3.5k
1 x decent Sub to do 63Hz and down to 20 if possible.
Myths- you need two subs. No you dont, it only equals +3Db gain in overall output, but you need twice the space, amplification and woofers. You are far better off with 1 good quality sub.
Myth- You need rears. Well this is personal preference, but for me, I want my sound up front, preferebly from out on my bonnet, nice and high up and out past my mirrors in width.
This requires placement and good install.
75% of SQ is derived from install and tune.
Overengineering is FUN
