Hi im just wondering where the best place to put your sub/s is to give maximum performance???
Another question, Should i get two average subs or one good one.. thanks
Best spot depends on what sound you want. Experimenting is the key here, but most people either have them in a corner of the boot facing the opposite side, firing forward through the ski port, and some even have it facing up into the bootlid. People will tell you what they think is 'best', but it's best if you try out different spots yourself
As for one good sub v two average subs...
I think you're better off getting one good sub then two average subs. But in saying that there is no point in getting one really good sub if you don't have an amp that is of equal quality (and that can run the sub to it's full potential). I have 2 subs and although it's nice to have 2, for everyday listening you don't need them. My previous setup had 1 sub and that went plenty loud.....now with 2 it's just overkill![]()
Face them up mang, but be prepared for some rattlesThe other done thing is to face them forward through the ski hatch but sealed off from the rest of the boot.
And 1 King sub will be better then two average ones usually. Budget and what amp do you have mate?

well im going to be buying everything around christmas time so i will get an amp to suit my subs i would prefer one sub. for the space saving purpose i do like the idea of on the drivers side in the boot because i want to feel the bass not hear it through all the **** rattling
well keep in mind if you want to "feel it" there is no substitute for cone area - go a 15, you'll just have to sacrifice some spaceand you'll get rattles no matter what, just have to locate and diminish them with rubber/dynamat/foam etc.

but i have heard 15s are too big and slow down so they cant keep up with modern music
cant keep up with modern music??!!?? much to learn you have young padawanYou heard wrong. A "good" 15 in a suitable enclosure will wang nicely, and give you those lows you seek.
Elaboration: the slowness of a sub is related to its inductance, not its size specifically. Further, enclosure design will play a huge part in whether the bass is tight or sloppy. We run into problems in cars with 15's because they are more difficult to "blend" with the common 6.5inch fronts.

ok well when im in the market of buying one ill come talk to you give me till around new year
lol yep, post up when your nearer to buying and we here at JC will steer you in the right directionA little tip: when buying a complete system your best bet is to go into a PROFESSIONAL car audio store - eg. if your in Adelaide see George at Adelaide Pro Sound - you'll generally get much better advice (although you'd want a decent budget)
i think ive whored your thread enough! Peace and goodtimes this weekend to all![]()

the box makes the sub as joe boy said.
kinda like your tyres, if you have 500kw it doesn't matter if you cant get it to the ground with out skidding everywhere.
