Default Need Recommendation and Advice on Gear!

Hey everyone, I have slowly been getting parts for my car audio setup.
    So far i have a;
    Pioneer 7950UB Headunit
    Clarion APA4204 4 channel amp
    Clarion SRR1616 6" Car Speakers (I think)

I am still thinking weather or not to get a sub or 6x9's.

At the moment i am thinking a Sub.

So i guess i need another amplifier and a sub, can anyone recommend me a some that are good?

Also the speakers i have i am not sure if i should update them or keep them?

Also is the amp hard to install?
I did the headunit myself, it was a piece of cake as i am electronically minded

All in all id like some advice/tips on how to install this gear, how good is the gear i currently have and what sub/amp combo would be good!

I am asking about the gear because most of it except the headunit is just hand me down's!

Hope you guys can help me out because i plan to look around for audio equipment tomorrow!!

Budget Well i dont want to go overboard, maybe something mid range?

    Keep it well under $1,000.

    Maybe a budget of...$500?
give or take depending on the quality of gear and all that.

Depends whats hot and what are good deals ect.

$500 won't get you anything "midrange" best bet is to upgrade the fronts say $300 (Focal, MB Quartz, Dynaudio, Boston Acoustics etc.) spend another $100 or so on a single 12" sub and spend the other $100 on materials for a decent box (so many people underestimate the difference a box makes), as well as wiring. Use your existing 4 chan to run the new splits and bridged to the sub, use your existing 6" as rears off your deck if you really want rear speakers. Don't bother with 6x9's at all.. No one can really tell you whats the best to go buy, just go out and listen to different products and buy what you think sounds best, just stay away from brands like Boss, Rampage, US-Audio..

Will my current amp be good enough to power the Sub??

What about if i upped the budget to...say $700-$900.

ok mate i would probably go with sub,
say a 12inch jaycar carbon fibre sub with a matching ampo from the jaycar range. so the sub is 219 and for the amp i would say the 2x150Wrms. you can have each coil of the sub connected to each channel and the sub will be getting the exact power it needs. the amp is 250 ok so thats 470 then add $100 for the wood, cable and what not. add another 60-80 if the current power cable for the 4 channel is not big enough for the sub amp.
NEXT if you still want to spend a bit more i would look at deadening the doors. say you can spend anywhere of $40 upwards to do it. the better the job and deadener the better your front speakers will sound.
next if you dont like the front speakers after deadening go out and look at some more expensive splits. spend as big as possible because this is where you will get the more improvewment for your money.
