    Default kicker gear.

    hey guys, got a new car not long ago, so its time for a new system, ive decided on, pioneer head deck, pioneer yellow cone kevlar splits in the front, alpine type s in the back doors, kicker mono block(750wrms) kicker 2 channel for the splits (2x110wrms) and just fade out the rears, i will also be running a kicker 12 l7 sub rated at 750wrms, with a custom boot install, now i know i love the kicker l7's but how do their amps crank, i can get this gear pretty cheap i already have all speakers and the head deck, and can get the amps and sub for around 750 brand new, what do you guys think of kickers new amps, ive only heard good things so far, but wondering what you guys reckon, i know its all about what i like, but im wondering about all over quality. a 20 second listen to the amps isnt going to give me all the justice i need to go and buy them.

    whats kickers track record been? they are 'new' amps so i will not say if they are good or ****e. mate i would look at the amp and its specs and compare to other brands at the price range you can get the kicker.
    plus you are getting an L7, so does quality really mater.......... kicker is SPL, you know that....... hehe

    hey im not worried abou the sub or the monoblock , i just want to knowif they put out a nice sound (for the splits). im hoping for some decent spl, hopefully 130's which wont be to bad for a 12, or would they class it as a 15 because of the surface area?

    my mate just bought the 15 inch L7... the only drama is making a box big enough to properly house the bastard of a thing... commy boots are not really big enough to leave any usable space for transporting stuff...

    if you ahve a look at some of the videos on youtube of how hard they go you will be shocked thats for sure

    like i said mate, what has kicker been like is the past with SQ of its class ab amp? ok but lots of better places to look.
    COMPARE it to othert amps in the kicker amps's price range. if the amp is , so called new, then not many will have used it.
    why are you concerned what "they" will class it under?

    sorry i meant they as (db drag racing) i wouldnt mind putting it into comps as it will run pretty high for a 12 inch sub, and there are catagories for what you run in your car.

    its a 12 for dbdrag purposes. And what do you mean it will run pretty high for a 12? as in loud? you wont crack 140 as you predict in a street setup which is actually pretty quiet

    i will eventually be running 2 12inch l7's with two 750w kicker mono's, 140 is definently high for 2 twelves, hey im not talking summernats competition, more store comps, i dont have a spare 20k to run in the nats. all sponsored cars and stuff go to the nats. i just want something that i can still use for daily but re-tune for comps and i think this is my best chance. i could go for a 1500wrms clarion mono, but i dont trust clarion for higher end gear.

    o and the 140db i want will be with the 2 twelves not the one, ill hope to get to 130's with the one twelve

    130's with a single 12 you will get easy enough, and im confident that you'll get 140ish with two 12's, i was just stirring The thing to remember is that custom installs arent necessarily best for spl, which may be something to consider. often they are designed in such a way that they cut off cabin access to the air pushed by the woofer. What kind of boot install did you have in mind?

    me and my mate who is a car audio installer are going to make the boxes, its not so much my field its his, but he is making the boxes for spl, so thats alright.
