help-wiring colours

hi, i am writing this thread on behalf of my mate.
he has an 85' holden barina,i wired up a stereo for him because the last owner took it out and just cut the wires, how can i find out which colour is accesories, atm i just have it wired upto +12 so when the car is turned off it looses all the settings, thanks

just buy yaself a multimeter there only about 20 bucks for a cheap one..... and u will soon be able to find the accessories
