Default Dash lights not working after stereo install - Help?

Howdy guys, first post here new to the Commodore scene and just installed a stereo over the last few days.

Everything went fine accept ran into my first hiccup tonight, i went to turn my headlights on (cos it was dark, haha) and noticed that since my install, none of my dash lights or gear selector lights work anymore! Indicators and such are fine.

I am thinking that it has something to do with the illumination wire? I am pretty sure i hooked it up to the illumination wire off of my head unit. Is this the correct way to do it? Any help would be great!

    Cheers

I know my Alpine HU only said to connect the dimmer circuit if the car has the circuit, otherwise just leave it off. I did, and my lights work fine. So you may have to disconnect it, and try again.

have you checked all your fuses? i think there is one for interior illumination not sure exactly what it means like the roof lights or dash lights but its worth a try.

Hey nah yeah i did diconnect the battery, I checked it all out today, one of the fuses was actually blown and it happened to be the light around the cigarette lighter, it was a dodgy case that held the globe and shorted the illumination wire. No more light for me but atleast everything else works now! Cheers for your help fellas...peace
