    Default subby blew amp???

hey all i just bought this amp the other day products. -mine is avalanche brand that i got from strathfield

its a 600w 4ch amp and i hooked up a 1000w 12'' pioneer subby to it by bridging 2 channels and i only got sound from it for bout 5 secs then it slowly went quieter and quieter until the light on the amp turned red.

now im guessing i must have blown the amp but is there any reason why the amp **** itself b4 the fuses both on the amp and the one at the battery blew?

i dont understand cos my last car i had a cheap alpine imitation amp that i got for like $20 off ebay that used to run a 1200w 15'' subby + 2 6x9's and it used to overheat but come good when cool again and never blew anything?

Cant really help you out with a reason your amp is dead, but if the fuse at the battery did blow I would be really worried. That fuse shouldnt blow for anything except a dead short. That fuse isnt there to save your amp, its there to save your car. If something goes wrong with the amp or how it is wired that fuse can pass more than enough current to kill your amp without blowing.

he did not blow any fuses.

mate the amp was probably dodgy. has the sub worked before this? if so return the amp to the supplier.
