wats the best way or place to get the positive wire through the firewall on a vp commy cheers

i dont know about the VP, but on a VR, there's a rubber grommet behind the brake booster. You can easily fit it through there and out through the other side where the fuses are.

its a bit tricky if you only feed the power cable through the grommet to the dash. A good idea is to use a straightened coat hanger and tape it to the power cable and then poke it through the grommet. It should be clearly visible under the dash.

The grommet is there for a reason where cables are put through metal... Get some rubbing and youve got a short in your power cable... Short in 12v line = not good :(

Isn't it also illegal to put new holes in the firewall?

its not where the wires go through its where the steering colum goes through they dont have a grommet for that theres insulation tho and ive got conduit over the wire

but not too bad because all people should have their feed fused appropriately!
