What go on
Can you tell me the size for double box size for 15 to fit in vr.
cheers mate.
the box size depends on the sub/s.
I got 2 boss 15 sub i was go to make but i sixe of box
check on their website as to how many cubic litres they reccomend for the internal of the box then do the math![]()
a lot of ppl seem to run boss gear on here. just an observation....
CHeap and does the job i guess. there is another threat on this.
from memory my 12's had to have abotu 2cubic ft each so 15 might be just a fraction more. Someone will correct me.
Also, is is better to have both in one box or separate boxes when running two subs? always wondered.
@vl: better to seperate, but there is usually no reason.
the main reason i would seperate is if i wanted a VERY strong brace and couldn't be bothered drilling holes in the brace.
@RAID: i think its more that new people buy boss/whatever and ask questions.
good point, i spose the ppl that are past asking the rudimentary q's have had their experience with boss/whatever and moved on (if they felt the need). and i have heard that with dual subs separate enclosures are best for performance/longevity of sub life. although each sub is playing the same output, apparantly the waves inside the box from each respective sub will affect the other. any thoughts?
If you take 2 subs and combine their volume into 1 box with the subs mounted as close together as possible you will actually gain about 3dB of free volume from the effect of coupling the cones together. A well respected speaker designer "Vance Dickerson" has identified this occurance thru years of speaker building and testing. Just make sure the box is well built and the enclosure size is appropriate for the subs.
Having both subs in a single box will make them sound more "boomy" but you loose a bit of control, Having them seperate will make them more controled and slightly more "Punchy". If u plan on having them both in a single large box MAKE SURE the box is airtight or u will have issues with one sub driving and one sub being pulled back into the box.
Here is a pic of my old setup that Buzurk and myself built, 2 15's in a single enclosure, went VERY hard
I would say a single box around 4 cubes would be about right for your boss subs.
Cheers

Provided your boxes are properly tuned and have correct ports in them, mounting two drivers in 1 box is generally a better way to go. I work for an audio production company and the majority of our mid/high speakers are double 15"s and they are so much louder and clearer than single 15s paired together - even with the same drivers in them.
On a side note - I wouldnt touch any bose gear. I would sooner put peavey amps and speakers in my car than any bose product.
audi's have bose (and RR i think) offer premium bose speaker packages.
