Default Hot weather = wiring problems?

My speakers have stopped working, head unit is reading cd's just no sound. I'm assuming this is caused by the recent heat we've had.

If so, is there anything obvious that can be the exact problem? I mean something I should check first before re-wiring the entire thing?

    Cheers

oh yeah its an aftermarket head unit with aftermarket speakers front and rear running off of it

forgot to mention there is a short crackly kind of noise from one of the rear speakers when first turned on but as I say none of them are working.

    does the radio work?
reset the h/u to factory settings.
if still not working then remove and send off for repair.

well mate if they were working, now not and you havent changed anything, the h/u comes on its probably a h/u problem, unlikely all speakers would be stuffed at the same time.

speaker wire shorting out somewhere will often shut the system down to save itself....or **** itself.

Did u just use the original speaker wiring? eg. from all 4 doors? check ur wiring at the back of the unit, check the wiring is still attached 2 ur speakers aswell and make sure nothing has come appart, if all seems good id say garfa is right. can u get ur hand on a spare head unit 2 do some tests?

I've had everything except the cd player installed by Autobarn. I do have a spare player I can check with. Will do this asap.
