Hi everyone, I just installed a amp in a VY (to the standard head deck)... the "remote on" wire is playing up.
I read in the sticky thread re speaker wires that the yellow/red trace is the accessory ON wire (+12v) but the amp only works with the radio - not with a CD playing, all I can think of is, its not the right wire !.. I checked it with a meter & the wires only active while the radio is on..
any suggestions apart from running it via vehicle accessories ?..
............ Thanks in adv
the wire that you connected would be for the electric antenna's. Just connect the remote wire for the amp to the ACC wire and it should be all good. mine was connected up like that before i upgraded my headunit and it was fine
Hi.. you mean just hook it up to normal acc power from anywhere ?..
I would have thought the factory stereo would offer some sort of power wire for a amp as the calais & statos etc with the 6stackers have factory amplifiers for the parcel shelf.
Would rather not have the amp running all the time if i can help it, much prefer it to come on and off with the stereo
If you join it to the ACC wire then the amps will only be on when the keys in. take the keys out and they'l be off.
Seriously... I cant remember the last time i turned off my stereo with the key in so joining the remote wire to the ACC wire didn't bother me
