VS Commodore front speakers not working.

Hey
I have just started to put in my new stereo system: HU, 6.5 fronts, 6x9s, sub and amp and so far everything has power and is working well although I am getting nothing from my fronts. I have tried almost every wiring connection possible and still not even a buzz.
The head unit is a Pioneer - DEH-P5950IB and the 6.5's Pioneer -TS-A1682S, if that helps.
If anyone could give me any clue of what is going on that would be sick.

switch the rear and front wires.
then work back from there to isolate the problem.
