Essentially, just got a vy, chucked my old pioneer 5950 in it with an aerpro wiring loom. but every single time i turn off the car and remove the key the h u forgets what it was doing, radio stations and all. This is diff to how it used to work when i had it installed on my vr. how do i fix this/ what's wrong with it ?

If it's the same as my wiring adapter, they have the constant power and ignition power wires around the wrong way (ie red is yellow and yellow is red). This would explain why you're losing all your memory settings.

You can test this with a test light or multi-meter without disconnecting anything. Probe the two power wires and see which one loses power when you turn the ignition off. Remember the VY keeps ignition power on until the driver's door is opened, so you may have to turn the key off and open your door to kill power to the ignition wire.
