how do i remove the speaker covers in my vt stupid question i know my first vt and im not sure on how to do it![]()
as he said.
Tweeters - Remove the top 2 plastic pieces around the front of the dash they are under there.
Parcel shelf - need to remove the whole parcel tray to remove speakers.
Door Speakers - Need to remove the whole door trims to get to the plastic speaker pods.
also they are 6inch not 6 /1/2 inch pods, but can be cut down easy.
as the door speakers are 6inch i take it some 5.5 inch splits shall fit in easy as ?? and were abouts do u guys put the splitter box?? do i have to put some silicone on it and attach it inside the door like i have had to do in other cars or do i try and put it in the door pocket and make it look trick ( just more anoying )
how do you remove the parcel shelf? is there a write up?
.:Blown VT V6, DAJ37:.
hmmmm car door in parts does the factroy stero have spliters or what as i got the same color wires at the tweeters and the door speakers?? were do these split up or do i need to run all new wires from splitter box or what ?? urgent help required or do i have to rip out whole head deck and everything and chuck in lazy one i have lying around??
No crossover box on the factory speakers, I believe there is just a simple inline resistor on the tweeters. You don't need to remove the head-unit, But it would make it easier, and much easier to run your own wiring for the crossover, but retain the factory wiring into the door as its a pain to route new wire through the rubber door jam grommet.
cheers for that i put new cross overs and mids and tweaters in and the factory head unit has no were enough grunt to power them lol resorted to standard onesnot happy bout it but will have to go shopping
and i arn't going to swap back ones over but i did get pull wire through to doors so going to make new stero install a easy task .
1. Under the rear seat there are two tabs/handles, pull these outwards (towards the front of the car) while lifting the front of the rear seat. It will just pull off, put to one side.
2. Remove two bolts from the bottom of the two window seat backs, then slide these upwards to disengage them from the chassis. Put to one side.
3. Lower centre armrest, and remove the plastic cover from the top of the ski port (where the centre armrest lock latch receiver is). There are two plastic clips, gently pull them out.
4. Open the flap on the parcel shelf for the child seat restraint and remove the bolt.
5. Remove the two plastic clips from the top-rear of the parcel shelf, and the clips from the front (where the seat backs were covering, I can't remember if there are 2 or 3, but they are all obvious.
6. The parcel shelf is now un-secured, remove by gently pulling one corner out, then slide the whole shelf out of the car.
Install is reverse of removal.
