Talking VZ head unit+subs+amps, how do I do it?

    Hey guys
I just got my new baby a few weeks ago and I am getting up the motivation to put in my subs and the like, I dont want to change the head unit if I can get away with it.
Is it possible to hook up amps and subs to the original head unit ? If so could you tell me the easiest way to go about it.
    Cheers
Ps Sorry if thats a silly question

Actually best bet would be Phreddy on the forum. Have a look here and here some of your questions may be answered but basically its a mod that allows connection of an amplifier to the stock headunit. If your near sydney send him a pm and sort something out.

    Hi Hareba,

Can you please post the solution when you find it. I would like to do exactly the same thing (connect amp and sub to stock head unit).

    Thanks

True, the LOC will work as such - but it's not really doing your amps and speakers any favours. The mod I run picks up the signals before the internal amplifiers - a true "line output" - and is much cleaner than when LOCs are used, as they just attenuate the speaker outputs to feed the amp inputs.

They work great, but the internal amps tend to generate a fair bit of distortion - if you're forking out good dollars for amps and speakers, it's a backward step to feed them with a distorted signal to begin with...

Just installed Phreddy's combo kit (aux input & low level outputs) and it works a treat for the sub.

I still have the stock speakers connected up normally and just the sub connected to the rear low level outputs via an amp and it sounds awesome.

This is definitely the perfect solution to this question.
