VT car audio installation question

Hey guys,

I just bought an explode stereo to replace an old alpine tape deck. I have disconnected the red & yellow power leads, and then the earth. I then connected the earth and power leads to my new unit. .. but there was no response.

Then i tried connecting the old unit back up, and it was dead too.

I think i have blown a fuse. Does anyone know if i have? or where the fuse is for the stereo etc.?

the fuse box is under the steering wheel colume id say uve blown a fuse. Did u hook up ur new deck with out disconnecting the battery?

yeah, sounds like the fuse is fried.

Definitly disconnect the battery when doing any work under their. chances are it earthed out on a frame and you didn't know it.
