    Default Sub direction in boot.

Need an argument settled here, one friend says the subs have to face into the cabin of a sedan to sound better, another says they are better sounding when they face towards the rear of the car, and a third mate says it makes no difference at all.

Someone want to settle this with logic for me?

It varies from car to car, but generally (from my experience) out of those two options(forward facing behind seats/rearward facing behind seats), both directions has the same sound quality, but facing rearwards is louder. The reason it is louder is because when the sub is facing forwards there can be sound cancellation making it quieter. You can actually test for this cancellation by sitting in the car listening to the system (with forward facing sub) and get someone to open the boot... In every car i've done this, the bass gets louder INSIDE the car if the boot is open due to the cancellation being eliminated.

Aiming a woofer box in a car trunk - bass cancelation -

My personal preference is forward with boxes at the rear of the boot, I have lost most of my boot due to it though. BUT... I haven't tested my current subs in any other position, so it could just be that these subs are better than my previous subs that were in different positions.

i've got myne right up in tha port hole in the middle, facin into tha cabbin, prob tha worst set-up, cause i got a biggg ported box, but thats tha way i designed it to get it fittin (n keeping boot space) i reakon it would sound sooo much louder if i put it in a different position, but ohwell

my mate puts his on the side (opposite to the spare tire) hes tried it in heaps of diff ways, i think he said that works best, and his got a sealed box (its joey_19, so if u read this joe, tell em were it is? probably face down, rolling around in tha boot lol)
