Hey guys. Ive just hooked this amp up to a rockford p1 punch. When i play music its like i can hear voice coming out of the sub. I would just like BASS and i cant get the vol to 20 with out it distorting. but im sure ill be able to sort that out. But on the other hand there is a small red led on the amp that says protect it comes on for about 10 secs just before i start the car then stays off? Here is a pic of the amp.![]()
you need to put your filter switch on low and set your "X-over" to around 80 hz to hear your sub play constant bass.
My car audio:
CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms
Thanks guys.
dont forget to put it on a fairly high volume on your headunit, turn your gains all the way down, and slowly go up.... until it starts to distort...
then go back a little bit to the point where it has no distortion and you should be set
(thats the way i do my amp and it sounds fine)
