Hi All,
i got a maestro series head unit in the calais n iv tried searching but couldnt find much info at all (or i may have found what i wanted n not realised).
My question is when i swap over the head unit whats the go with the 8 speaker setup. from info iv found it seems like maybe the stock headunit only has 4 outputs but its rated at 260W and thats alot per channel if so. as the aftermarket headunit has 4 channels of output how would i connect it, or is it simple like any ordinary 4 speker setup.
Also less important question (as this should take to long in a search) to take the stock unit out can u just use a curve bit of thick wire?
Thanks
well as no one was giving any idea's i went ahead and swapped it and it works ok now as they all must run off just 4 channels altho there were a few other plugs that i had to leave loose once i swapped them.
Only downside to the swap is that i can no longer use the steering wheels controls as expected but also my antenna is either always down, or on the whole time the car is on (CD or radio), depending what i connect, i went with the always down as i dont use the radio very often.
Is this dependent on the head unit as i only connected the remote power switch to the antenna to make it do anything, im guessing the headunit would need a special output to correctly control the antenna.
Also my pioneer head unit didnt want to fit without a fight but its done now..No more E-99 Error =]
