Just get two of these. One bridged at 500wrms for the sub, and one running the splits. theyre only cheap at $450 the pair
    Power is measured in DECIBEL

Ideally, you would use two amps for those speakers.

    A 100-150Wrms x 2 for the speakers and a 500Wrms x 1 @ 2 ohm mono.

What is your budget and brand preference?

[edit] If you're after a good quality amp that can do it all... I'd look at an Audison LRx 4.1k. It's a 4 channel that does 130Wrms x 4 or in your situation 130Wrms x 2 and 800Wrms x 1 @ 2 ohm. Much more sub power than you need, but it would allow for further upgrades...

The Type-R SWR-1042D is dual 4 ohm. So to run it you'll need a amp that can handle 2ohms if you're running it in parallel or a 2channel amp if you're running the voice coils separately. can't think of anything atm that runs 500wrms @ 2ohms or a amp that is 2x250wrms@ 4ohms so i cant help you there

He could just get a dual 2 ohm Alpine sub and can run it at 500wrms at 4 ohms.
    My car audio:

CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
    Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

I went to autobarn today and got quoted 350 total for 2 clarion amps on special. 200 for a 400wrms mono block and 150 for a 2 channel 60wrmsx2 @ 4ohm amp.

They'll work fine, but won't make the speakers and subs sound as good as they could.

I think that question has already been answered:

A 500wrmsx1 @ 2ohm amp for the subs should be easily found. Same with a 100wrmsx2 @ 4 ohm amp for the speakers.

I went and had a look at some Alpine amps to keep it in the same brand as your speakers and these amps would suffice:

To run your sub, I found a 500wrmsx1 @ 2ohm amp which is a perfect match for your sub. Its the MRP-M500 V-Power Digital Mono Amplifier. Expect to pay around $300 at JB's etc.
    Alpine Electronics of Australia

To run your speakers, I found a 150wrmsx2 @ 4ohm amp which will more than run your component setup. Its the MRP-F300 V-Power 4/3/2 Channel Power Amp. Expect to pay around $280 at JB's etc.:

Sweet thanks mate, if its in the same brand I can get it for cost price, i was only contemplating the clarion amps due to the low price.

    Thanks for your help.
