Default mounting (not wiring) a head unit into a vh sle

    Hey guys how are you's

I have had a look through the how to's but cant find anything relating to changing a head unit into a vh

the problem im having is not the wiring.. that part is easy as ****

its the part of mounting.. when i bought the car it had a cd player already in it.. though.. they just slided it in.. and could be removed by just pulling it out..

however the deck i am putting in i would like to actually mount it as so it cannot be just grabbed and removed.

But being the old one not being mounted.. i cant work out how to mount it.. i see some screw holes going upwards... but still cant work it out

    and help is greatly appreciated

    thanx

how do i explain this...you got the cd player itself then the outer metal case that the cd player can slide into and lock in, and you have to use a special tool (that comes with the cd player) to unlock it. so all you have to do is fix the outer case into the hole in the dash. now i found it too hard in mine to screw it in so i used a special plastic glue my dad had that kinda melts the plastic slightly so to insure a strong hold. works fine cant pull it out. hope that helps...

I have mine installed so that it is easy to remove. I figure I would rather they take it and not smash my dash to pieces.

I saw one guy who bolted it in from the rear and screwed it in from underneath. When the thieves got his stereo (which they will go to any length if they want it) they totally destroyed his dash. So he was up for a new stereo and also a new console, and dash parts.

    Just my $0.02.

hmm.. i see what you mean

and if it was a detachable face i would just slide her in and bobs your uncle.. only thing is.. the deck i got is a motorized face and you cant take the face off.. so am a little scared in not screwing it down ..

    what you think??

that metal case thingy.. i gotta look for it.. dunnoi if i still have
