Hi. I just rewired my JVC head unit because it was done wrong. I went by the wiring diagrams on this site and i found a few things that weren't right. But anyways, I have a VX XU6, and according to the diagrams on this site, the white and blue wires are for the antenna up and down. The thing is, I dont have these colour wires coming through, and my head unit only has one wire for the antenna.
Any idea what to do here, as when i turn my radio on, the aerial doesnt come up.
Perhaps i dont have an electric aerial? if so, how do i get it up becaus it sits in the hole and you can just use your fingers to pull it up.
Usually JVC head units have only one wire (blue or blue-white) for triggering the aerial - when power is supplied, the aerial goes up, and it retracts when power is switched off.
I would have thought your XU6 would have an electric aerial but as I recall, some models have separate controls for aerial up and down on the head unit which allowed antenna height adjustment, rather than a simple up-or-down type. Perhaps someone with a little more background knowledge of this model can help out?
You could look in your owner's manual, that should tell you if you have an electric aerial or not....
Hi. I had a look at the head unit that came out of it and it doesnt have the buttons that my berlina had to move the aerial up and down.........but i assume it would be electric as it is retracted at the moment and i cant see how you would push it up
