hi just wondering where to install a sub or subs to a vy ute an the easy,st way to hook it up 2 the std h,u
thanks
you cant hook it up to the stock head unit without either a hi-low converter or one of Phreddys mods, this question has been answered before, do a search.
Hi there..
I've had VY's and a VZ ute and did some mods to the stereo.
I ran an amp off the fact head unit, put kenwood components in the front and 3ways in the rear.
I had a mate make some fibreglass pods covered in matching cloth, in the encloser where the quarter light window is.
They were angled slighty towards the rear window so the sound went around you as such.
Got plenty of base through the fronts and I could only use half volume. Plus still had all the storage space behind the seats.
Just an idea for you, lol...
Cheers...
just lettin ya know if you didnt already but you can get slimline subs now i saw them in auto barn in a nice thin box perfect for utes
.... or you could place the sub in the cavity next to the fuel tank. (under the cargo tray) Doesn't cost you any cabin space at all! (does mean you need a custom built box tho...)
