I havent done one myself, but Im sure I remember reading that you can replace them yourself as long as you are handy with the soldering iron or have a mate who is.

Hopefully someone else can give a definite

G'day - the globes can be replaced, but it's a bit of a job. Yep, you sure do need to be handy with the "soft wire welder" , and it's better if you have access to a proper vacuum desoldering station as the LCD display really needs to be removed to get to the globes. (this is connected through a row of pins soldered to the circuit board in the facia panel)

If you're dead-set to get this repaired let me know, I have the necessary gear to do it.

No problem - to be honest, I reckon you're much better off looking at an aftermarket unit. They can be made to fit in quite nicely in the VT/VX dash, and you'll have a quantum leap in quality. The Eurovox units from the VT/VX era weren't really all that crash-hot.

Most new headunits can have an interface module fitted so you don't loose the steering wheel controls. Some work by infra red and can be programmed with the existing remote, others have a jack in the back for a wired remote.

    Thanks for the info
I will stick to the original one
Too Old and Lazy to put in a different Stereo
I only listen to ABC Radio to find out the price of Cattle at Moree
