Default Amp Question (8.5" WH Stato Subs)

Scored some 8.5" speaker/subwoofers from a WH, need to know what the best amp to run them through would be. I figure i can run them and my speakers off them, but worst comes worst ill settle for just running my sub through them.

Any suggestions on what sort of amp id need to get good service from these? Preferably cheap.

If you want cheap, then just go get a jaycar response amp. Its probably some of the cheaper "better stuff". Also a nice mid size clarion amp would go nice too.

Any suggestion on what the Amps should be putting out? I think the back of the subs say 2Ω 50W. Or will just anything do?

At a guess somthing around the 400W mark, that should give you a little to spare aswell

If the speakers are 2 ohms, make sure the amp will take them, most decent amps will with no dramas, because most car speakers are 4 ohms

400w will work fine, he dosnt have to have it cranked up. Then when he wants to put in some better speakers one day or run a small 10" sub he wont have to go buy a bigger amp. Its not as simple as a 50w speaker so a 50w amp, it will sound like crap and stress the amp to its max capacity. Its attitudes like yours that were being discussed in a forum the other day, and why members are leaving.

you may have to make up a box.... Pods only take up to 6.5 and the rear shelf will take 6x9 max...
