Default Amp prob: turning itself off

I have a problem with my amps, when i turn them on (switch on remote wire) the light on the amp will come on and then slowly fade out, sometimes it wont even come on. It is all connected correct and no fuses are blown, im not sure weather itcould be that its not getting enought power, but its been running fine for the last 1.5 - 2 years. anyone have any ideas what it could be.

Try brifging from the B+ to the remote terminal to see if it stays on then, if it does you might have to investigate the head unit and wiring, if it goes off still then maybe your amp is having troubles.

Good suggestion from VrWagz - also it can be worthwhile to check the power and ground connections at the amp, the ground point to the chassis, and the main fuseholder.

It's been working fine for some time yes, but in that time connections have had the chance to get a little oxidised or corroded, or work loose. I've seen one blokes amp not power up because of a flaky connection in the fuseholder, so....

(in other words it looks to me like the voltage supplied to the amp is dropping away once it starts to draw some current - usually indicateds a high resistance connection.)

Of course, the other option is there might be a fault with the amp!

    Anyhow, best of luck. Cheerz!
