    Default Is Phreddy still working?

    Hi Guys,

Is Phreddy still making his kits as I need a stereo out-put one? His sub-forums says he is out of business but there is still a sub-forum and ASR website?????

As far as I am aware Phreddy is still very much in business although last I read it was simply work which is done on the weekend.

Phreddy himself will be able to confirm this though.

Phreddy is definitely still working. If you look closer, that thread which says he's out of business has been closed.

Like Darren said, he's doing the stereo and lighting mods on the side now.

Sent him a PM yet? He might take a little while to get back to you...

    yayayayayayayayayayyay!
just got a VYII SS and, dare I say it, I am already attached to the stock looking stereo.......
I know, me, but I like the whole wheel controls.
    thanks heaps guys.
One last Q tho, as a lot of ppl have done the mod them selves: what is involved with the stereo pre-out mod? I thought just a few leads needed soldering to the PCB of the unit...?

    Rgds.

U'll get a nice set of instructions with the kit garfa i was a lil unsure id b able 2 do it but if i can do it as easy im sure u'll have no probs doin it urself man u'll need 2 solder some leads as u said, add a connector at the back of the unit and also connect and mount the PCB boards supplied inside the unit, how many depends on if u get the combi kit or just the pre out 1.

I watched Phreddy do mine and if you've got some basic soldering skills, you shouldn't have a problem. It's the dash lighting mod that you need to be pretty advanced to do yourself, but that's another story.

BTW, I don't blame you for wanting to keep the factory looking stereo. Besides the wheel controls, you've got the interface with your dash display as well.

Good luck with it all, I'm sure you'll be as happy as I was/am...

Thanks Dave and Juzo - yes, sometimes it does take a little while. I do apologise to all who I haven't gotten back to, as much as I try to avoid it sometimes things slip on me.

Garth and shaggy - replies to your PMs sent. Schteve, sorry Mate - I will get back to you soon.

As Darren has said, things are still running along - however I had to go back to the way things were at the start, in that this is simply a free-time thing - I have to keep hold of a full time job as well, which does limit the amount of time I can spend on the automotive stuff. Add to that a resonably hectic private life lately, and I'm beginning to wish I could sprout a couple of extra arms and figure out a way to survive on four hours sleep.

Anyways, for those who are waiting on replies - if it's been too long, give me a friendly little prod. Either PMs or email from my web site are fine.

Hang in there guys - I'll try and look after everyone in due course.

    Cheerz.

i wouldn't know, i've only taken the covers off and not the dash in my VT completely out to mod the lights or anything (yet), but without one i would assume it will be pretty hard.
Did that arrogant attitude come with your falcon, or was that an optional extra?
