Hi,
I have a VY commodore with a double din head dvd head unit, purchased off ebay, pretty happy with it considering and i have 6x9's in the back and just stock speakers in the front, im not planning on a sub in the meantime but would like some more power, i know an amp is the best way to go but what should i be connecting the amp to? im thinking of maybe replacing the stock front speakers with component speakers and mayb a 4 channel amp to reconnect the back door speakers?
any tips?
thanks

Depends what sort of sound you're after, I guess. If you want maximum doof-doof from the speakers you have, hooking a 2 channel amp to the 6x9's would give the best result. If sound quality is more your thing, replace the front speakers with splits and amp them.
Don't connect both the back door and rear shelf speakers up - 2 quiet speakers in the back is fine and the rear door speaker locations are dodgy.
thankyou for your opinion..may buy a 4 channel amp and connect both spilts and 6x9's or wouldnt sound good because the sound quality of the 6x9's will wreck it? lol..ahh well for d moment just a 2 channel amp to the 6x9's will give a good power boost..they are 500W max each but dunno how many RMS
4 channel and splits in the fronts and power all four would be the best way to go.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
