easy way to run speaker + amp + rca cables

Ok, I have all the stuff I need now, just a matter of getting the cables from one end of my car to the other. Any advice of guides?

If it's a sedan, i'd take all the seats and carpet out and run it properly.
Insulate and secure everything, solder where you can as its a much more solid connection than crimp fittings.

Seriously?!! Take off the door sills, lift up the carpet tuck it in, put the carpet back over the top, door sills back on. Power to the left and RCA's to the right if you want to keep it seperate.

I just started on the power, and have the cable running inside the door sills. How do I get the rca and speaker cables out from behind the console dash and run it on down the drivers side doors?

Crimps are just as good as solder joints. Better if the solder joint is not done properly. It is much easier to do an excellent crimp join than solder join. It is also much easier if you ever need to work on the system.

dethballer you have not told us the car you are installing into. I assume a VX series II or VY?

Run your power down one side and signal wires down another. Dont run power wires with signal wires. Run power down the drivers side. Signal (RCA's) down the passenger. You just have to get behind the dash, either by going under or pulling out whatever dash is in the way, to thread the wiring though the car to where it is needed.

Yeah, I have the power on one side and its all good. But I have no idea how to get the other cables from out behind the dash so that I can do the same for those wires on the other side of the car.

Also, What was I thinking 2 years ago when I thought up the name "deathballer" Hahahahah

I'm not hi-jacking jsut asking why ppl run the power n rcas down different sides is it for interference purposes? I have mine cable-tied together and squashed in the door sills together and i get no interference. I reccommend doing it all down the same side so if u need to change anything you only need to fuss about on one side of the car. My 2 cents

Interference is why most people do it yeah.

Personally though I've never had a problem with good quality rca's and well insulated power cables.

I still have no Idea how to get in behind the dash so that I can connect my rca cables from my head unit and into my amp. Ahhhh!

I'm only speaking how it is in my car, but the carpet should come down from behind the pedals, you should be able to peel it back kind of thing, then run it in and behind your dash. If you put your seat back and get down there you should be able to see the top of the carpet and go from there.

The way i did mine was: plug everything in the headunit, with it out, then feed all your cables into the spot where the head unit is and (with the glove box out) feed them all behind the glovebox, then down the little bit in front of the kick panel and underneath the door sill. You'll have to take the trim off, most of it just pulls off or u could pry it off with a screw driver, run it down the length of the car. Then take the back seats out, and where the door seal ends i just fed mine straight up to the closest hole in the back of the seats to get it all to the boot. Then put everything back in and ur done. Once you start taking the trim off and glovebox out its just a matter of feeding everything through. Good luck with it.

Thanks alot whitevr. Only problem is two of the torx screws under the front sill has been busted up (looks like someone has drilled the top of it?!?!) One problem leads to the next!

"solder where you can" mean much? I also didn't say a good solder joint was easy to do, but if had the choice between a permanent solder joint and a permanent crimp fitting, I know what I would prefer.

Solder where you can? You can solder every single connection. There should be very little need for any sort of wire to wire connection anyway. Power feeds and signals should have no need for joints in the short runs required in the car.

no worries mate, if u have a dremel or even a hacksaw u can cut a slit in the top of the screw head and use a flat blade screw driver to unscrew it with. Hope u get it all working without any hassles.

I got it off, hooked my amp to the sub... and then find that my head unit has a fault. GRRRRR!

So now I need to exchange my head unit and connect my second amp and I will be all set.
Some how I find it hard to believe that it will be that easy though
