Default Sub to suit Response 2x150?

    Heya guys,

I have a Response 2x150 bridged running a kenwood 1500w sub, worked fine for a week, but i've killed the sub, it wasnt running overly hard, now it just sounds like someones thrown a few bearings into it, makes a soft rattle.

I have 2 options, I can go to JB or autobahn, buy another, and take mine for a refund for DOA... which i would prefer to do, otherwise its a better sub..

the Kenwood sub was rated @ 380W RMS, and i doubt i was running it near that, I dont understand why its died.. i also had to replace the bonnet fuse.. I'm thinking it had something to do with the dodge on my amp, remote cable broke, so i rigged up a switch from constant 12v to the remote and it worked fine for the week, then just stopped..

    any help is appreciated!

    Joel.

mate ilove car audio and i would have to say thers been alot of power surge in the amp probably couldnt handle the sub which has caused to stuff a coil in the sub itself but there could be alot of dust in sub so try turning it on its face and turn it up and see wat happens.

I believe i have killed a coil in the sub, so i might head down to JB and get a bit dodgy, might have a new sub for sale next week haha

You would have burnt the sub's voice coil... That amp can make 500Wrms when bridged so it can easily toast a 380Wrms rated sub if run hard. If I was you, i'd look for a sub with a higher RMS power rating and be careful when listening

^^^^ What he said. That Jaycar amp can smoke a small sub in the blink of an eye.

Be careful though... it's 500wrms at 4ohms. So a SVC at 500wrms or a DVC 2ohm sub at 500 (250 each coil) would be good. Nothing below 450rms and nothing above 550rms is what you are going to be looking for....or a pair of subwoofers?
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
