Check the fuses on the amp and power wires before getting too worried about anything
hi guys...anoda issue i came up with...while i was driving one day i noticed my bass cutting out...when i parked my car on the side of the road,i started clearing the wires out to see what was wrong and something sparked. later on in time i realized it was the remote wire that touched the gnd connection on the amp. after that the amp stop working. Is it that i blew the amp up? what can i do to make sure its the amp thats wrecked before i end up having to buy a new amp?

all the power wires are good and connected, and surprisingly all the fuses are god too!!!anyother suggestion guyz?????
first thing i'd do is check u have 12v at the amp. get a voltmeter and put it on the dc range, check between ground and 12 on the amp terminals. This is to just ensure that the problem is localised at the amp, and not further up the car.
actually I'm going to bet your amp is fineBut I bet you don't ahve a remote turn on wire in your deck anymore
No big issue though, check to make sure you no longer have 12Volts at the remote turn wire....if you do, you have other issues and it may be the amp but if you don't then it's your deck. I personally would simply whip the deck out and put the remote wire from the AMP on to the Acc wire from the deck. This way the moment car switches on, so will the amp. Even if your deck is off the will still be running....no big issues though.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
lol..ummm...well the remote wire is not connected to the deck..it is actually bridged to the cigerate lighter because there was some loomb missing behind the deck and therefore couldnt connect the remote wire to the deck....anyway ill still check the volts on the remote tonight and let you know wht i get...thnks guyz
check the cig lighter fuse....

omg god u were right, it was the cig lighter fuse..it works now and i made the wiring connections better... but the amp is still floating in the boot tht is my worry and cant think of a proper place where i can screw it so that it doesnt move and nothing else happens. any safe recommendations? i do have a gas tank in the car too..so behind the seats is out of the qn...anywhere else??
not ideal but certainly work is screwing straight to the sub box.

wouldnt that damage the circuit of the amp due to higher intensity vibration??
