Default quick question about mono amps

kk i just bought 2x rockford fosgate P2D212 12" subs and am looking at buying a rockford fosgate P1000-1BD mono amp to put with them.

my question is it possible to run both subs of that one mono amp

i know power wise it should be fine but im not to certain on the whole 2 subs of one mono amp thing

    thanks in advance

btw was just going to install it using a 4gauge amp wiring kit, should that be fine?

Hey the Mono amp should be fine, i just bought 2 alpine type S subs an a 1500w amp, with the subs you bridge the wire an the subs off your amp, and also with the 4 gage wiring kit it should be fine just make sure its made for 1000w amps

    have fun.

Your subs are 250wrms each. They are DVC 2ohm. Really, you bought the wrong subs. Had you bought the 4ohm versions you could purchase a cheaper amp, and have them wired to 1ohm. The DVC 2ohm subs will need to be wired to run at 2ohm.

That amp is the correct amp for your setup though. At 2ohm, the amp is 500wrms which is perfect for the combined output of the subs.

With the wiring, one positive and one negative from each sub need to be connected to the amp. The other positive and negative on each sub then need to be wired to each other instead of to the amp (not sub to sub, but coil to coil).

The subs are only 500wrms combined, as is the amp running at 2ohms. Not 1000wrms. Also, yours are only 300wrms each so why have 2x300watt subs running off a 1500watt amp?
