Bass is not directional if thats what your wondering. so it shouldn't make any difference facing it either way.

try it both ways and see which you like better

It is personal preference, so try both and see how it sounds and what you prefer.

Going on the dust etc. i'd probably face it backwards I guess in your vehicle. As above, bass is not directional and below 100hz the human ear isn't meant to be able to tell where the bass is coming from (depending on where your filters are set to the sub probably shouldn't be playing above say 80hz). So it shouldn't matter what way it is facing. However, after saying that... You will notice a difference depending on what way it faces for some reason but what is better is up to you.

I reckon faciing it backwards you produce more bass as it will vibrate through the car..
Try it both ways see which way you think is the best

yeah if you can facing it backwards will produce more bass, as it creates a "loading" wall using the panel it fires against. If the box is going to be sealed (more than likely) then i would leave around 10-15cm gap in between the subwoofer and the panel to allow for the bass to circulate. If its ported than leave say 20cm or more if possible.

Direction can make a difference, if it faces back the sound will take longer to get to your ears, which depending on the setup and application can be better/worse. Like others have said, try each for a few days and see!

Also make sure the +/- are done correctly, otherwise it will be out of phase with the other speakers, which again can affect the sound.
