hey guys i got a question for anyone who has changed there deck in a vy

hey if anyone has changed there deck in a vy could they please tell me what happened with the antenna because with my stock deck if its on cd the antenna will stay down as soon as i turn on the radio it goes up will it be the same when i change the deck????

It depends on which headunit you get,some do,some don't.
Pioneer seem to think that the aerial needs to be up with the CD player on, even on the high end players like the one I got - Idiots.

I ended up putting a switch on my aerial as I rarely listen to radio when I can fit 800 odd songs on one disc.

The alpine CDA-9857 only put the antenna up if you use the radio, i recomend the alpine.
ive got 2 for my car (alpine CDA-9857 , Rockford fosgate RAV-DVD2 - rare) i swap them over as i need to. It always handy to have the wiring colours handy when you do this.

for the antenna setup you can try these colours
Antenna up - White (VR onwards)
Antenna down - Blue (VR onwards) <-- I use this one

thanks for that will keep alpine in mind than was gonna get the new pio double din but may change my mind not sure

yeh i fitted a pioneer and it stays up, so i disconnected mine(was noisy in opration and slightly bent anyway) but have a toggle switch that was in the car when i bought it that i'm going to wire up when i get a new aerial sometime in the near future.
